Guide
Indexed, Found, Mentioned.
Direct answer: AI visibility is not a separate magic channel. Your site must be Indexed (crawlers can fetch and read it), Found (pages match real buyer searches in Google and Bing), then Mentioned in AI answers. Mentions and links are different outcomes — ChatGPT often names brands without linking; Perplexity links more often. Track both.
Indexed
Search engines and AI search crawlers can discover the URL (sitemap, links), fetch it (robots allowed), and read the important text in HTML. IndexNow helps Bing and partners learn about changes quickly. Google does not use IndexNow — use sitemaps, internal links, and Search Console.
Found
One primary query per URL, clear titles and intros, internal links, and pages that deserve the click. Google’s generative AI features (AI Overviews and AI Mode) use the same core ranking systems as Search — ranking well in normal Google is the path into those features.
Mentioned
AI engines retrieve from the open web (and partner indexes), then cite. Being in the retrieval set, writing citeable passages, and earning third-party corroboration matter more than “AI-only” hacks. A ChatGPT win does not automatically carry to Perplexity.
How Trendi reports this
- Mentioned — your brand or product is named in the answer.
- Linked — the answer includes a URL to you (harder; reported separately).
- Partial / absent / wrong — incomplete, missing, or incorrect.
We do not promise rankings or mentions. We ship the work and show what moved.
