What penetration testing is
Penetration testing is a planned attempt to find and prove security weaknesses in a system you own or are authorised to test. The work follows an agreed scope, timing, and rules of engagement. You get written findings: what was tried, what worked, how serious it looks, and what to fix first.
It is not the same as a marketing scan that only lists open ports. It is also not an open-ended "red team" show with no written limit. We keep the scope honest so you know what was and was not covered.
What we offer
Typical engagements for business websites and apps include:
- External web application testing against an agreed host or staging URL
- Checks for common and higher-impact issues such as auth flaws, injection, access-control mistakes, sensitive data exposure, and unsafe file or admin paths
- A written report in plain English, with severity and fix guidance you can hand to a developer
- A short debrief call if you want one, to walk through the findings
We only test systems you are allowed to have tested. You confirm ownership or written authorisation before anything starts.
What we do not claim
- No "hack-proof" or "fully secure" guarantee after the test
- No fake enterprise theatre. If a big compliance pen test or certified third-party report is what you need, we say so
- No destructive attacks outside the agreed rules
- No social engineering or physical security unless that is scoped and priced separately in writing

How this differs from our website security check
The website security check is a lighter, practical pass. It looks for exposed admin paths, common misconfigurations, and everyday web risks, then lists findings. Penetration testing goes further inside an agreed scope and tries harder to prove exploitable issues. Pick the light check when you want a quick hygiene pass. Pick penetration testing when you want a scoped test with a formal quote.
